Postgraduate medical education in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands is offered through a single government institution, ensuring focused training and quality clinical exposure for aspiring doctors. Admissions to MD and MS courses are conducted strictly through NEET PG 2026.
NEET PG is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Qualified candidates participate in MCC counselling for allotment of government PG medical seats.
Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), Port Blair, is the only government PG medical college offering MD and MS courses in Anaesthesiology, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Anatomy, Microbiology and Biochemistry.
Due to limited seats, admission is highly competitive and requires a strong NEET PG rank and accurate counselling strategy.
