Quick Answer: NEET UG 2026 counselling is the centralised admission process for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing seats in India based on NEET UG rank. Counselling is conducted through MCC for All India Quota (AIQ), AIIMS, JIPMER, Deemed and Central University seats, while State authorities conduct counselling for 85% State Quota seats. MCC counselling is expected to begin from mid-July 2026. Before counselling, make sure you understand NEET UG 2026 exam details and eligibility.

What is NEET UG 2026 Counselling?

NEET UG 2026 counselling is the admission process that determines which medical college and seat a NEET qualified candidate is allotted, based on their All India Rank (AIR), category, domicile status and choice preferences. It is a centralised online process conducted by MCC and respective state counselling bodies in multiple rounds.

Counselling for NEET UG 2026 is divided into two way: MCC counselling (for All India Quota seats, AIIMS, JIPMER, Deemed and Central University seats) and State counselling (for 85% State Quota seats in government and all private medical colleges). Understanding the NEET UG 2026 exam structure and eligibility is essential before you begin the counselling process.

Qualifying NEET UG alone does not secure admission, a candidate must separately register for MCC counselling and/or their state counselling to be allotted a seat. Missing counselling registration deadlines results in forfeiture of the admission opportunity for that round.

Types of NEET UG 2026 Counselling

NEET UG 2026 seat allotment happens through four distinct counselling streams. A candidate can apply to multiple streams simultaneously (subject to eligibility).
