Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2026 is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for admission to MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses in Government, Private, Minority, and Deemed medical colleges across Karnataka. Candidates who qualify NEET UG 2026 are eligible to participate in the counselling process for Government Quota, Private Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota seats based on their All India Rank (AIR), reservation category, and eligibility criteria defined by KEA and the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The Karnataka MBBS counselling process includes online registration, document verification, merit list publication, option entry (choice filling), seat allotment, and fee payment. Karnataka is one of the most preferred states for MBBS admission due to its large number of medical colleges, affordable Government quota fees, and wide availability of Private and Management quota seats. Both Karnataka and non-Karnataka candidates can participate in counselling, however reservation benefits apply only to eligible Karnataka domicile candidates as per KEA rules.

Candidates must carefully complete KEA registration, document verification, and option entry within the specified schedule to secure admission in top medical colleges like Bangalore Medical College, Mysore Medical College, KIMS Hubballi, and other reputed Government and Private institutions. Seat allotment is strictly based on NEET 2026 rank, reservation policy, seat matrix, and candidate preferences. Understanding the complete counselling procedure, eligibility rules, document requirements, and admission process is essential for successfully securing an MBBS seat in Karnataka.

IMPORTANT:

Candidates are hereby informed to go through the Information Bulletin carefully and understand / acquaint themselves:-
1. Candidates have to apply online for CET-2026.
2. Information Bulletin can be downloaded from the Website https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/
3. Online submission of Application Form can be done by accessing KEA Website https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ Instructions for Online submission of Application Form are available in the Information Bulletin and on the KEA Website https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/
4. Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as given in this Information Bulletin and also the updates published on KEA Website https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
5. Candidates must retain the following documents with them as reference for future correspondence.
(i) At least three printouts of the finally submitted online Application.
(ii) Proof of fee paid
(iii) 2-3 copies of identical Photograph that was scanned and uploaded on the Online Application.
6. (a) Candidate must ensure that mobile numbers, e-mail address entered in the online application form are his/her own as in case of urgency KEA may send information / communications by SMS or mail on given mobile number and mailing ID only.
(b) The Candidate / parents are solely responsible for non-receipt of latest information due to wrong mobile number or mailing address filled in the Online Application Form.
7. Candidates must preserve the Admit Card till the admission is made in College or Institution.
8. For the latest updates, candidates must remain in touch with the KEA Website https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ till the completion of final round of counseling.
9. Candidates / parents are advised to visit KEA Website https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ at least twice in a day for the latest news / updates and also check their mobile / e-mail as in case of urgency KEA may send the information / communications.
10. KEA will reserve the right to withdraw any such admission made at any point of time which is not fulfilling the eligibility criteria / regulations fixed by the Competent Authority from time to time. The non-Karnataka candidates who register for CET and opt for Medical / Dental / AYUSH / and B.Sc. (Nursing) courses in the application will be assigned clause ‘y’ for the purpose of seat allotment.

What is new in this year?

A. Candidate Portal:
Candidate Portal will be opened for CET-2026. Candidates can log in and download and print each document e.g. receipt, admit card, verification slip, instructions, timetable, etc.
B. CET-2026 Application printing only after verification of documents.
After submitting the application for CET 2026,
1. For whom the application will not be printed
2. For whom the application will be printed.
After registering online for CET 2026, the web service will retrieve and match the study details using the SATS number and the reservation details using the RD number, such as Caste, Caste and Income, Kalyana Karnataka, and NCLC certificates.
1. For whom the application will not be printed?
Candidate, who claims eligibility clause-a, and claimed reservation for having studied
(a) 10 full academic years in Kannada medium from 1st standard to 10th standard;
(b) 10 full academic years in rural areas from 1st standard to 10th standard;
(c) 10 years from 1st standard to 12th standard for Tulu, Tamil, Telugu, Kodava Linguistic Minority reservation; or
(d) Religious Minority (Muslim / Christian) reservation;
For these candidates, after submitting the application, only the claim slip will be available for download initially. The status— “Claimed & Verified, Claimed but Not Verified, or Not Claimed” —will be printed on the Claims Certificate. At this stage, there is no provision to print the complete application.
These candidates should get their documents verified by submitting all the documents at the college where they are presently studying or in any Government college.
After verifying in the respective college, the candidates will be allowed to log in to the portal and print the CET-2026 application form.
Candidates claiming the remaining eligibility clauses such as 'B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O' in the application should print the application on the candidate portal after verifying the documents in KEA. The schedule for verification will be given at a later date.
2. Who will get the printout of the application form?
After confirming the details of the prescribed seven years of study (including 10th class or 2nd PUC/12th class) for Government seats under eligibility clause (a), the status “Successfully Verified” will be mentioned in the Claim Certificate, and the CET-2026 application form will be made available for printing on the candidate’s portal.
Such candidates will not be required to visit any office or college for document verification. After the CET-2026 results are declared, the verification slip can be downloaded.
3. Internal Reservation for Scheduled Castes
The Government, in its order SKE 08 SLP 2024 Bangalore dated 25-08-2025, has provided the internal reservation to Scheduled Caste candidates as Category-A / Category-B / Category-C. Therefore, Scheduled Caste candidates of Karnataka; should obtain a Scheduled Caste certificate containing internal reservation details from the concerned Tahsildar in the prescribed format and mention the RD number in the application.
4. Verifying the details through Aadhaar Card
It is mandatory that the candidate name printed on the SSLC marks card matches the name on the Aadhaar card. Likewise, the name appearing on the Caste or Caste-income certificates must also be the same as the name on the SSLC marks card. (It will be useful for candidates in the future as well)
Therefore, all candidates should verify the name printed on their SSLC marks card and compare it with the name on their Aadhaar card. If there is any discrepancy, the candidate must immediately correct the name on the Aadhaar card.
Similarly, candidates should check that the name on their caste or caste-income certificates matches the name on the SSLC marks card and make corrections if any differences are found.

PLEASE NOTE

1. Online application is application-cum-verification module. The student entries pertaining to school study, Kannada Medium, Rural Study etc will be verified through SATS and Caste, Income, 371 (J), NCLC will be verified through based on RD Number through Revenue Department Web service. The candidates are advised to fill.
2. Application is common to all the Professional Courses. Viz Engineering, Medical, Dental, AYUSH, Nursing, Agriculture, Veterinary, Pharmacy, B.Sc. (Nursing), BPT, BPO, BSc., Allied Health Science, DPharama etc. Candidates have to register, submit the application and pay the fees through online. There will be no physical verification as this is application-cum-verification module. The candidates are advised to fill all the details carefully.
3. Respective reserved category seats will be allotted to SC, ST and Cat-1 candidates based on the Caste Certificate, however to avail the benefit of fee exemption, candidate should obtain income certificate and enter the RD number of the income certificate carefully in the online application.
4. The Government in its Order No. 304 14-09-2018, has enhanced the annual income limit from `6.00 Lakhs to `8.0’ Lakhs per annum for claiming reservation benefit. The candidate and his / her father’s - mother’s Gross Annual Income is below Rs.8.00 Lakhs are eligible to claim benefit of reservation under 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B categories.
5. OTP will be sent to the candidate registered mobile number and after verification candidate will be allowed to proceed to enter the details online. Hence, the candidate has to provide their mobile number only. One Mobile number should be used for one application only. Change of mobile number will not be entertained.
6. Regarding the syllabus to be adopted for Common Entrance Test-2026, the subject experts of the Department of School Education (Pre-University) have reviewed the Syllabus of PCMB subjects adopted for the 1st and 2nd PUC classes in Karnataka state and the syllabus to be adopted for CET-2026 has been published on the KEA Website for the information of the students.

General Instructions

i. Website of KEA http://http://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ may be checked frequently for updates. Instruction / information will also be sent to the mobile number furnished by the candidates in the online application form. KEA or the Government shall not be responsible for any action / consequence resulting due to non-diligent follow up of notices, notifications and publications appearing on the KEA website on CET-2026 by the Candidates.
ii. The candidates must compulsorily verify their qualifying examination marks printed on the result sheets without fail, if there is any discrepancy with reference to qualifying examination marks, the same should be brought to the notice of this office immediately for assignment of new ranks, if necessary.
iii. If the qualifying examination marks of the candidates change after revaluation or re-totaling then the candidates are required to submit a copy of the latest marks card indicating the change in marks if any to the KEA for assignment of revised / new rank.
iv. All the candidates (GM, SC, ST Category – I, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B category candidates) must compulsorily submit the STUDY CERTIFICATE (where SATS data is not available) obtained from the head of the institution which should be countersigned by concerned Block Educational Officer (BEO) from where the candidate has passed the 10th standard / SSLC examination, by mentioning the Standards, Academic years, Mother Tongue as per the admission register of the institution.
v. The candidates who claim seat under rural category will have to obtain a rural study certificate from the respective school / high school issued by the head of the institution which should be countersigned by concerned Block Educational Officer (BEO).
vi. General merit candidates who claim seat in rural category should also submit Non Creamy Layer Certificate (NCLC) which contains RD number, obtained from the concerned Tahasildar along with the rural study certificate. RD number needs to be entered in the online application.
vii.The candidates who have not studied in the rural areas during their school days are not eligible to claim rural category seat. However, if the place where the candidate had studied from 1st to 10th standard comes under rural area at the time of his / her studies, he / she will be eligible under rural quota, even though the same place has been declared as urban area in later days.
viii. Candidates belonging to reserved categories should possess valid Caste / Caste Income Certificate as the case may be, issued by the Concerned Tahasildar in Form 'D' for SC, ST; Form 'E' for Category-I and Form 'F' for 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B categories, and Caste / Caste income certificate should be in the name of the candidate only. Further, they should have claimed their reservation in the application form; also enter the correct RD number without fail during entry of online application form.
ix. Candidates claiming Kalyana-Karnataka Region Reservation (Article 371 (j)) must possess the certificate [Annexure – A (eligibility certificate – rule 3(3))] issued by the concerned Assistant Commissioner, and they should claim the reservation and also enter the correct RD number without fail during entry of online application form.
x. KEA will allot the seats ONLINE in the order of merit and based on the priority of options obtained from the candidates. Candidates have to enter the options of their choice on the specified URL at KEA Website on their own arrangements. Candidates will have the choice to enter as many numbers of options as they desire. Candidates may note that they should enter their options carefully by following the prescribed procedures.
xi. The candidate who has obtained a seat in any discipline through KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous year’s shall not be eligible to continue in the course to which he / she has been admitted during the previous years immediately upon selection of a seat in any different discipline during the current year.
xii.A candidate may have option to select Medical / Engineering etc; seat in other boards like JEE, NEET, COMED-K and KEA etc. If the candidate is allotted seat in such boards, he should cancel the seat allotted from KEA before the mop-up round / final round, failing which it may amount to blocking of seat and Government may initiate both civil and criminal action against such candidates.
xiii. If a candidate decides to surrender the seat, he / she has to surrender the seat only to KEA through online by filling the required details. Merely not reporting to the selected / allotted college should not be presumed by the candidate that he / she has surrendered the seat to KEA.
xiv. No requests for Mutual Transfer of seats will be entertained by KEA at any point of time. xv. All the admissions / allotments made to and by the colleges shall be subject to approval by the Government / concerned University / Apex Bodies.

NOTE ON APPLYING FOR MEDICAL / DENTAL / AYUSH COURSES

Government in their letter No. HFW 124 RGU Bangalore, dated 28-06-2017, have directed KEA to conduct Common Counseling for admission to UG Medical and Dental courses for all Government, Private (Including Minority), NRI and Others seats in the State of Karnataka.
As per the directions of the Government, KEA is holding counseling for admissions to Medical and Dental courses for the year 2026-27. The candidates who will score more than or equal to the prescribed minimum score in UGNEET-2026 will be eligible for admission to UG Medical and Dental and Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathy degree courses for the year 2026-27.
Further, as per the letter dated 13-07-2023 of Karnataka AYUSH Department, the seat matrix for 85% of seats available for admission in Government and Government Aided Institutions (except 15% All India Quota) and in Private Institutions all seats (including State Quota, All India Quota and Management / NRI quota) available for UG courses in Private Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathy Colleges of Karnataka state shall be allotted through KEA. UGNEET-2026 eligible candidates can also register online for Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathy seats. However, non-Karnataka candidates are eligible only for the notified seats.
Non-Karnataka candidates will not be eligible for reservation. Hence, in the UGNEET-2026 examination, if they score the required minimum 50th percentile or above, fixed for ‘GENERAL (UR)’ category as per the qualifying criteria, then only they will be eligible to register for admissions through KEA or for any other seats in the State of Karnataka. Please note that SC/ST/OBC eligibility criteria are applicable to Karnataka SC/ST/OBC candidates only.
Mere registering does not confer any right on the candidate unless the candidate fulfils eligibility conditions / submission of certificates / completes the document verification.
Before registering through online for admission to Medical / Dental / AYUSH courses in the state of Karnataka, applicants should know the eligibility criteria for admission to these courses.

For Admission to 1st Year Eligibility Criteria for Determination of Merit / Rank
In Qualifying Examination, Candidate Should Have In NEET Examination
Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Unani / Homoeopathy Courses Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the languages and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.

40% for SC, ST, Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates.

Other eligibility criteria and conditions as mentioned in the UGCET/UGNEET-2026 Information Bulletin are applicable.

Note: The SC / ST / Category-I / OBC eligibility criteria is applicable to Karnataka candidates who are eligible to claim Government seats under clauses (a), (b), (f), (h), (j), (k), (l) and (o). The same is not applicable to clauses (c), (d), (e), (g), (i), (m) and (n) i.e., Eligibility Clauses to claim Government Seats.

ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS TO BE KEPT READY FOR SUBMISSION AT THE RESPECTIVE COLLEGE

Online seat allotment for admission to various Professional Courses for the year 2026, will be based on the claims made by the candidates in their online application form and submission of supporting documents / certificates by the eligible candidates.
Hence, candidates are advised to be ready with all the necessary certificates / documents as per the claims in online application or to claim eligibility and reservation benefits.
The candidate should possess all necessary original documents with them in support of their claim made in the online application. If any candidate fails to produce any of the documents / certificates / marks card, such candidates will not get eligibility to exercise the options for seat allotment. Eg: If a candidate is belonging to 3A caste category reservation and fails to enter the RD number of Caste-Income certificate of 3A issued by the concerned Tahasildar, then he / she will not be eligible to claim 3A reservation.
If a candidate mentioned as ‘YES’ for Rural reservation in the online application, but fails to produce Rural Study Certificate for having studied 1 to 10th standard in the rural areas issued by the Competent Authority, then such candidate will not be eligible to claim Rural Reservation.
Further General Merit students should obtain NCLC from the concerned Tahasildar (RD number needs to be entered in the application for online verification) Likewise, submission of relevant certificate / documents is mandatory to claim any reservation benefits; candidates will become ineligible to be considered under that particular reservation due to nonsubmission of the relevant certificates / documents.
Even though a candidate is eligible to claim Rural Reservation, but he / she has not claimed in the online application then he / she will not be eligible to claim such reservation. Furthermore, candidates will not be eligible for any type of reservation if it is not claimed in the online application.
NOTE:
I. Verify candidate name, father name, mother name printed on the certificates / marks cards etc.
II. Study Certificate should contain the details about study period and years. BEO / DDPU counter Signature is compulsory on the study certificate.
III. Check the date of issue of Caste / Caste Income Certificate. Check the validity of the Caste / Caste Income Certificate.
IV. Check the RD number printed on the Caste certificate / Caste Income certificate / Income Certificate / 371(j) Kalyana Karnataka-Annexure-A. Without RD number candidates cannot be eligible to claim reservation.
V. Caste Certificate or Caste Income Certificate or Income Certificate or 371 (j) Kalyana Karnataka Reservation should be in the name of the candidate only.
VI. Caste / Caste Income Certificate of Karnataka State only. Migrant Certificate and OBC certificate issued by Central Government is not valid for admissions through KEA; it should be in Form-F for 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B reservations, Form-E for Category-1 and Form-D for SC / ST reservations.
VII. Category-1 and SC or ST candidate should also obtain income certificate to avail the benefit of fee exemption as per Government norms. IF they fail to enter the RD Number of income certificate they will not be eligible to claim fee exemption benefit.
Those who are appearing for UGNEET-2026 may please note that the documents which they are furnishing for Engineering etc courses will also be considered for Medical / Dental / AYUSH courses if they become eligible in UGNEET-2026. Further, candidates claiming additional reservations like Linguistic Minority / Religious Minority / NRI ward for Medical and Dental courses and admission to St. Johns Medical College, may keep the Linguistic Minority / Religious Minority / NRI ward certificates ready.
Details of the Documents / Certificates
1. CET-2026 Application Print
2. SSLC / 10th Standard Marks Card
3. SEVEN Years Study Certificate counter signed by the concerned BEO / DDPI.
3.1. Study Certificate to show that the candidate has studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN years from 1st standard to 12th standard or qualifying examination issued by Head of the institution including SSLC / 10th Standard or 2nd PUC / 12th Standard.
3.2. Further, School study certificates should be countersigned by the concerned Block Educational Officer (BEO) / Deputy Director of Public Instructions (DDPI) COMPULSORILY in the proforma prescribed in the following pages.
3.3. Counter signature is not required for CBSE / CISCE study certificate.
The following documents should be kept ready, “ONLY if applicable”:
4. Kannada Medium Certificate:
Candidates who have studied in Kannada Medium from 1st to 10th Std. in Karnataka and also outside the state of Karnataka. Certificate for having studied 10 full academic years in Kannada medium from 1st standard to 10th standard issued by the Head of the educational institution and such certificate should be countersigned by the respective BEO or DDPI.
5. Rural Study Certificate
All the candidates who claim seat under rural category will have to obtain a rural study certificate for having studied 10 full academic years in rural areas from 1st standard to 10th standard from the respective school / high school issued by the head of the institution which should be countersigned by the concerned Block Educational Officer (BEO) as per format. General merit candidates who claims seat in rural category should also submit Non Creamy Layer Certificate issued from the concerned Tahasildar along with the rural study certificate as per format with RD Number.
6. Caste / Caste Income Certificate (Income and Caste Certificate)– with RD Number
Caste / Caste income certificate should be in the name of the candidate.
Candidates seeking reservation benefit should obtain Caste Certificate in Form ‘D’ in case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes; in Form ‘E’ in case of Category -1; a Caste Income Certificate in Form ‘F’ for Other Backward Classes such as 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, issued by the concerned Jurisdictional Tahasildar, in accordance with the Government order No. Sa Ka E 225 BCA 2000 dated 30th March 2002 and No. Sa Ka E 104 BCA 2011 dated 06-02-2012 as amended from time to time.
The candidates belonging to SC, ST and Category –1 of the Other backward classes should also obtain a separate Income Certificate to claim Tuition Fee Exemption from concerned department / Government of India scholarship as per the prescribed format given in the following pages.

7. Income Certificate
All candidates including General Merit candidates are eligible for Supernumerary quota seats if their annual income is less than Rs.8.00 Lakhs.
I. Income Certificate should have RD Number and it should be in the name of the candidate.
II. The candidates who claim seat under “Supernumerary Quota” (SNQ) will have to obtain an income certificate from the concerned Tahasildar. (For Engineering Seats only)
III. SC / ST / Cat-1 and GM candidates should obtain income certificates separately.
IV. Caste and Income certificate of 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates will be considered for Supernumerary seats.
NOTE: EWS certificate and Arya Vyshya certificate (Form-G) will not be considered as Income Certificate.
8. Article 371 (j) Kalyana-Karnataka Region in Annexure-A only – Should contain RD Number. Candidates claiming Kalyana-Karnataka Region Reservation [Article 371 (j)] must obtain the certificate in Annexure – A (eligibility certificate – rule 3(3)) issued by the concerned Assistant Commissioner.
9. Parent’s study certificate / Parent’s Hometown certificate / Parent’s Domicile certificate / Parent’s Employment certificate/ Parent’s Cumulative Record / Parent’s Marks Card, etc., for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats based on the domicile / study / employment of the parent.
10. Duly sworn in Affidavit of the candidate who claims eligibility under Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses C and D. (Regarding Mother Tongue)
11. IDENTITY CARD issued by the Jurisdictional Deputy Commissioner / District Magistrate / Rehabilitation Commissioner, for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats under Jammu & Kashmiri Migrants quota. (Allotment of seat is subject to Government Directions)
12. Religious Minority: With RD Number (for Medical and Dental only)

Although, all religious minority candidates of all the states are considered, priority* will be given to Karnataka religious minority candidates who have studied in Karnataka for a period of Ten Years from 1st Standard to qualifying exam and passed SSLC/10th or 2nd PUC / 12th from Karnataka state.

Supernumerary Quota

The Income limit for claiming seat under SNQ (Tution Fee Waiver Scheme) quota is Rs.8.00 Lakhs as per G.O. No. ED 10 TEC 2019, Bangalore, dated 30-05-2019; the seat allotment slabs under this quota as per G.O. is as under.
First Stage
Merit list under Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (SNQ) will be prepared separately, seat allotment for candidates whose parental income does not exceed Rs 2.5 Lakh.
Second Stage
After Seat allotment in first stage is completed, the remaining seats allotment will be done for the candidates whose parental income is above Rs.2.5 lakhs but does not exceed Rs 3.5 Lakh.
Third Stage
After Seat allotment in second stage is completed, the remaining seats allotment will be done for the candidates whose parental income is above Rs.3.5 Lakhs but does not exceed Rs 4.5 Lakh.
Fourth Stage
After Seat allotment in third stage is completed, the remaining seats allotment will be done for the candidates whose parental income is above Rs. 4.5 lakhs but does not exceed Rs 6.0 Lakh.
Fifth Stage
After Seat allotment in fourth stage completed, the remaining seats allotment will be done for the candidates whose parental income is above than Rs.6.0 lakhs but does not exceed Rs.8.0 Lakh.

SEAT CANCELLATION, REFUND AND FORFEITURE OF FEE

As per Rule 12 of Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006,
I. If a candidate who has been allotted a seat in any discipline in the First Round or in the Second Round and who has reported to the college, wishes to surrenders / cancel the seat before the last date notified for entry of options for the 3rd round / Casual Vacancy Round, the Executive Director, shall deduct Rs.5,000/- as processing fee and refund the remaining fee paid.
II. If a candidate who has been allotted a seat in any discipline (except Engineering) in the First Round or in the Second Round and who has reported to the college or not, surrenders the seat after the completion of 3rd round / Casual Vacancy Round the Executive Director, shall forfeit the entire fee paid.
III. The candidate who surrenders the seat (except Engineering) allotted in the 3rd round / Casual Vacancy Round / final round / mop-up round, the Executive Director shall forfeit the entire fee paid.
IV. As per rule 12 (2) of CET-2006 rules, payment of penalty is mandatory and no exemption on penalty payment to any category candidate.
V. If a Candidate who has been allotted a seat in any discipline in an Engineering College or Institution under sub-rule (4) of rule 10 surrenders the seat after completion of respective Casual Vacancy Round, the Executive Director shall forfeit the entire fee paid and the candidate shall be liable to pay a penalty of five times of the fee.
VI. if a candidate does not surrender the allotted a seat in any discipline in an Engineering College or Institution under sub-rule (4) of rule 10 or fail to join the allotted college even after the completion of the Casual Vacancy Round, the Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority shall forfeit the entire fee amount paid by the candidates and the candidate shall be liable to pay a penalty of five times of the fee.
VII. If a candidate reports to the college and later on leaves the college he / she have to necessarily surrender the seat back to KEA only. It is the endeavor of KEA to see that subsidized Government Quota seats are accessible and available to all meritorious students. Hence failing to surrender the seat back to KEA will be viewed as a breach of contract and severe lack of social responsibility.
VIII. No surrender or cancellation of seat shall be accepted, unless the candidate surrenders the original admission order issued by the KEA, original Bank Challan and original Verification Slip.
IX. If a candidate does not surrender / cancel / fails to join the allotted college (except engineering) even after the completion of the 3RD Round / Casual Vacancy Round the Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority shall forfeit the entire fee amount paid by the candidates.

ONLINE SEAT ALLOTMENT

The online seat allotment would be conducted in three rounds / or as per Apex bodies / Government directions.
1. First Round.
2. Second Round.
3. 3 rd Round / Casual Vacancy Round
Eligibility to participate in each round and information about online seat allotment along with instructions, procedures, guidelines and schedule for each round will be published in KEA Website. Candidates are advised to keep in touch with KEA Website.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS ON OPTION ENTRY:
The options entered by the candidate for the first round will remain same for all the rounds of seat allotment. The candidates will not be allowed to enter options again. Option Entry done before the first round will be the final list of options. The priority of options entered by the candidate will be shown on the option entry module by obtaining the candidate credentials. Candidate may delete or alter order of higher options. The candidate will be allowed to add new options for any colleges and course that came into the seat matrix after the first round.
CANCELLATION OF SEAT:
IF a candidate chooses to withdraw the seat in which he has given admission, he has to follow the instructions within the time specified for each round and the request for cancellation of a seat should be submitted before the time specified for each round. Upon such receipt of cancellation, action would be taken to cancel the seat as per rules
It is made clear that, if a candidate submits the request after the expiry of the period specified for cancellation will not be entertained. Candidate has to state the genuine reason for cancellation of a seat by stating the valid reason.
If a candidate request for cancellation after the period specified for cancellation, legal action will be initiated as per rules.
