Assam is one of the major contributors to postgraduate medical education in India. The state offers a wide range of MD and MS courses through its government medical colleges. Admission to all PG medical seats is conducted strictly through NEET PG 2026, ensuring transparency and merit-based selection.
Government medical colleges in Assam include long-established institutions such as Andhra Medical College Visakhapatnam, Guntur Medical College, Rangaraya Medical College Kakinada, SV Medical College Tirupati, and multiple district government medical colleges. These colleges provide PG training across clinical, para-clinical and pre-clinical specialties.
Due to a large number of seats and specialities, Assam attracts NEET PG aspirants from across the country. However, competition remains high, and candidates must plan counselling choices carefully to secure admission.
